How does stress affect our body?

Dr. Gil Lewitus – Functional Plants Expert

Definition: Stress is the body’s natural defense against danger (real or perceived). It causes the body to flood with hormones that prepare its systems to evade or confront threats. Commonly refer to this as the fight-or-flight response.

Stress is how the brain and body respond to any demand. Any challenge—such as performance at work or school, a significant life change, or a traumatic event

Everyone experiences stress from time to time. There are different types of stress—all of which carry physical and mental health risks.
